Metropolitan University is a modern academic center located in the heart of the Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis. The university undertakes a number of activities aimed at implementing innovative solutions that actively support the development of the region. It is also important to combine the knowledge, practice and ambitions of the staff, students and partners of the Metropolitan University with the activities of organizations and businesses in the implementation of sustainable development goals for the Silesian region. The UM Development Strategy 2022-2026 also takes into account the objectives of socio-economic development, in line with the assumptions that the local government of the Silesian Voivodeship will implement within the framework of the European Union's regional policy. The new reality requires proper interpretation and understanding of social and economic processes, which are becoming less predictable and more dynamic. The growing interest in the acquisition and use of knowledge, and at the same time their practical application for the development of the region, makes the Metropolitan University open to new areas and forms of cooperation with the environment. Therefore, majors and programs of study are created and modified based on the needs occurring in the Metropolis and the opinions of experts from various industries relevant to the development of the region.

The vision of the Metropolitan University is to strive to make the University a strong international academic center based on universal values, so that the University is an attractive place to study in a cross-cultural environment, to unleash creativity and aspirations, and to have a measurable impact on the development of modern society and the economy of the Silesian Metropolis.

Our mission is to develop a university that creates space to realize its own goals and ambitions, through education, learning and research at an international level, and actively contributes to the development of the society of the Silesian Metropolis.
